About SVA Social Finance

SVA is actively seeking to expand the market for social finance in Australia. Social finance is funding directed to an enterprise to achieve social purpose outcomes and on which there is also a financial return. There is an emerging global trend in the growth of this market and if developed will become a vitally important asset class in achieving positive social change.

SVA is uniquely positioned to play a much needed advisory and intermediary role to build and develop the social finance market in Australia. The SVA Social Finance team has been established to formally build on SVA’s practical experience in raising different forms of social finance and to tap into our global networks.

In 2009, SVA played a pivotal role in orchestrating Australia’s largest example of social finance investing, through its role in the GoodStart Childcare transaction. The SVA Social Finance team is focusing on building on this platform to broaden the investor network as well as intermediating between suitable projects and social finance providers such as foundations, high net worth individuals, philanthropies and socially conscious institutions.
